So Does Experience.

That’s Why the Best Choice for County Court
is the Candidate with Actual Judicial Experience.

What makes this race different from others? It’s simple, our two sitting Columbia County Court Judges are retiring at the end of the year.

We need a judge who can hit the ground running on January 1st because the business of our courts is ongoing.

Being a judge takes more than being an attorney. It takes years of experience on the bench to acquire the skills, knowledge and good judgement that is required of a County Court Judge.

Brian is the only candidate with judicial experience. He has served 14 years as a judge in Columbia County.

Our County Court Judges actually serve on multiple benches as acting Surrogate’s Court and Family Court Judges. They can also be called upon to be an acting State Supreme Court Judge. Brian has the experience needed to assume the calendars of County, Family and Surrogate’s Court without interruption.

Brian is the only candidate with both the judicial and legal experience to take this position on without a learning curve.

Brian’s legal experience includes:
–Successfully maintaining a diverse law practice for nearly 40 years, in Hudson and New York City.

–Providing pro-bono work for many worthy not-for-profit organizations in Columbia County, including AnimalKind, The Recovery Kitchen, Copake Grange, and the Hudson Interfaith Counsel.  Brian has helped many of our neighbors in need who could not afford to pay for an attorney by providing free legal representation.

–Serving eight years as a Copake Town Justice and six years as a Hudson City Court Judge.  Brian has 13 published decisions.

–Serving two terms as the president of the Columbia County Magistrate’s Association.
